We are officially 16 days away from the 1st annual #IfTheCrownFits Wear It! Fashion Show!  There has been so much planning done thus far (Thanks Tina!) and our sponsorship response has been super humbling! I wanted to share with everyone who the models of the show will be.  When it comes to choosing someone to model or represent SJ, I am very particular.  This company demands more than just a pretty face or a stylish customer.  You see, I am a firm believer that beauty starts from within.  Thus, I needed a well-rounded group females who truly encompass what it means to be a Southern Jewl!  I'm so excited to get to work with each of these ladies.  So, now let me introduce them! Lorinda Graham Van-Newkirk was born and raised in California, bringing that California cool to all of her projects.  She had an early interest in rodeo from barrel racing to rodeo queen.  Lorinda pursued her education in Agriculture Communications at California State University – Fresno.  With a sense of style and fashion that could only have come from her soul, she has quickly become one of the leaders in her industry.  She is an award-winning business owner with over 15 years’ experience in all aspects of the retail world.  From managing annual budgets to designing pieces from scratch, she is involved every step of the way.  Lorinda started her first jewelry line in 1996.  When she re-located to Texas in 2003, she started VanGlow, and the jeweled flip-flop was birthed.  In 2006 she joined forces with Amy Moorhouse to create the unstoppable Gypsy Soule.  She is the President and Co-Owner of Gypsy Soule.  Her two greatest accomplishments are her two beautiful daughters, who have already developed their own sense of style.  Lorinda, her husband Joel, and their two daughters call Weatherford, Texas home, where the neighbors are never surprised to see her rollerblading around the house with the girls. Britt McGee (Koehl '12), wife of Stephen McGee, grew up in Midland, Texas and graduated from Texas A&M in December 2010 with a bachelors degree in Communications and a minor in English. She now works as a model for Page Parkes in Houston, is pursuing a career in makeup artistry, and is a Senior Director with Nerium International. In the future, she plans to work in royalty acquisitions in the oil & gas industry, as well as possibly start a company with her sister who is a fashion designer in NYC. Britt is so excited and honored to be chosen as a model in the 1st Annual "If The Crown Fits, Wear It Fashion Show!" She of course loves Southern Jewlz, but she also truly enjoys being involved in supporting and giving back to Bryan/College Station's local charities. Quincy Marvel Freeman is from Reedley, California and she currently attends California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo.  There, she is the captain of the women's rodeo team.  If you are a cowboy boot fanatic or an Ariat International customer, you might recognize the "Quincy Collection" of boots, belts and clothing, all designed by her!  Quincy says she is honored to take part in such a wonderful opportunity that supports a great cause.  She is also excited to be styled the Southern Jewlz way with all the fun and fabulous fashions! Most of you will already recognize Libby as she has modeled for Southern Jewlz for two years now!  Libby Vincek is from East Bernard, Texas and has attended Blinn College and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.  She currently lives in Orlanda, Florida where she works in the Entertainment Department of Walt Disney World!  Yes, she is a princess in real life!  When asked why she is glad to be a part of the show, Libby responds, " Excited doesn't even begin to describe how I feel to be able to participate in the first ever Southern Jewlz fashion show!  I have loved this company from the beginning and feel so honored to be able to watch it grow and see how sucessful it has become thus far.  When sportin' SJ, I feel like a jewl: confident, stylish and beautiful! Southern Jewlz makes girls of all ages feel fab-you-lous and strong - inside and out.  So to describe how I feel to be a part of a family as unique and special as this one..."blessed" would be the proper term." Originally from Katy, Texas, Stephanie Jones moved to College Station to attend Texas A&M University.  She graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a focus on Legal Research and a minor in Business.  Currently, Stephanie serves as the Law Firm Administrator at Chad Jones Law Firm where she gets to pursue her passion for helping people.  She & Chad have been married for 5 years and have a three year old little girl and a year and a half old baby boy.  Between working and spending time with her children, Stephanie also serves on the Board of OPAS Encore!, the fundraising arm of MSC OPAS, and is a member of the LWEN Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.  Stephanie has been a fan of Southern Jewlz since the beginning and is excited to be a part of this fabulous event and raise money for a great cause. Kaitlyn Dodson from Dallas, Texas, currently attends Texas State University.  You will recognize Kaitlyn as she modeled for us in our most recent Spring 2013 photo shoot.  We loved her look since she was introduced to SJ!  Kaitlyn says, "I am so excited to get the opportunity to represent such a great company and to be a part of the first Southern Jewlz fashion show! SJ gives every girl the opportunity to unlesh her "inner queen" by providing the most adorable and fashionable clothing and accessories." Taylor Nichols from the big city of Moulton, Texas is a junior at Texas A&M University with both a double major and a double minor!  She enjoys volunteering, baking fabulous cupcakes and she will compete for Miss Texas USA in 2014.  Taylor serves as a true inspiration to EVERYONE as she battled through and fought bone cancer.  She is a proud survivor of 2+ years and truly represents to always keep your faith first.  She is super excited to be a model at the fashion show and says, "What better boutique to model for?  Great clothes, fun atmosphere and wonderful staff!  I love SJ!" Breanne Muldrow is originally from Hardin, Texas and is a graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas with a degree in Mass Communications specializing in Broadcast Journalism.  She is currently a Newscast Producer at KBTX News Channel 3 here in College Station.  She is excited to be a part of the show because she sees it as a great opportunity to give back to the amazing community that she lives in! Alex Ingram, of New Braunfels, TX, is a sophomore at Texas A&M University.  Pursuing an Agricultural Communications degree, she hopes to have a future broadcast career, specifically in the rodeo/agriculture industry.  Currently, she is an early childhood ministries teacher at Grace Bible Church and a leader for Youth Impact, a discipleship ministry for the inner-city youth in the B/CS area.  She has been riding horses all of her life and was recently blessed to win the Miss Rodeo Austin scholarship pageant.  She is excited to model for this event not only because of Southern Jewlz's fabulous fashions, but also because of the company's selfless service in giving back to the community. Logan Lester, from Sugar Land, Texas, is a business major at Texas A&M University.  She is extremely passionate about fitness and living a healthy lifestyle.  She has even been lucky enough to do some fitness modeling!  She started competing in pageants in the Miss Texas USA system two years ago, and just recently gave up her Miss Houston Teen USA title.  At school she is involved with best buddies, MSC FISH and is an Aggie Belle, a new women's service organization on campus.  She lives her life by the saying, "because nice matters."  The simple act of choosing to react in a nice manner or choosing to do something that demonstrates kindness and consideration sends a powerful message to people.  She loves Southern Jewlz Boutique because she believes the store embodies exactly this; class, timeless style, and a genuine compassion for making customers feel like they matter.  She says," I am humbled to represent this boutique and am excited to rock the runway in their newest trends." Kassidy (Jones) Lovell is a hometown girl to the one and only College Station!  She is a graduate from Sam Houston State University where she majored in Business Marketing and minored in Management/Accounting.  She is currently an Accounts Manager for Centex Hydroseed, Inc.  In her free time, she trains barrel horses, rodeos, travels with her husband Colby, and takes her little boy, Levi, to baseball games.  Kassidy stated, "I am excited about this fashion show because I love the latest on fun and hip fashions.  I love meeting new people and I LOVE to dress up!  I'm also excited to see how someone else would style/dress me!" Kaitlin McDonald is a pretty recognizable face when it comes to Southern Jewlz boutique as she has served as a model since the very beginning!  She is a junior at Texas A&M University majoring in Allied Health.  After graduation she plans on attending nursing school and specializing in surgical nursing.  Kaitlin grew up in Plano, Texas and upon graduating high school, her family moved to Bryan, where they raise Red Brangus cattle.  One of her favorite past times is helping her Dad breed and work their cows.  Kaitlin has been a Southern Jewlz fan for several years and is excited to be a part of the 1st Annual #IfTheCrownFits, Wear It! Fashion Show because it is yet another milestone to Southern Jewlz's growth and success! Maci Meyer from Alvin, Texas is currently a student at Texas A&M University.  She is employed by Southern Jewlz Boutique and Mid-Tex Livestock Auction.  Maci is a member of the Texas A&M Rodeo Team.  You may recognize Maci, as she has done some modeling for SJ before, however a few months ago she joined the team and all of the customers and employees love her contagious laugh and her keen sense of style - she truly lights up the boutique atmosphere.  She loves to dress up and is honored to represent such a fun company and thinks the show will be an absolutely blast.  She says that the girls, the store and the clothes are all fun and fabulous! Kaitlin Coward, from Lovelady, Texas is a senior at Texas A&M, pursuing a degree in Agricultural Economics.  Kaitlin believes in an active and healthy lifestyle and her ultimate goal is to be a Sports Broadcaster.  She currently works at First Victoria Bank right here in town.  Kaitlin was best friends with our former employee and heavenly angel, Chandler Small, that we lost this past December.  Chandler had a great sense of style and would always want to dress Kaitlin the way that she personally dressed.  So, Thursday evening, May 2, Kaitlin will not only be dressed the "Chandler-way", but she will be walking in memory of her!  Kaitlin is excited to be a part of the #IfTheCrownFits Wear It! Fashion show to support all of her friends that work at Southern Jewlz! On behalf of myself, the SJ staff, and all of the models, we invite each of you to come out to the 1st Annual Southern Jewlz Fashion Show!  Tickets can be purchased online or at the door and proceeds benefit the Boys and Girls Club of the BCS.  There will be multiple door prizes (yes, you can win prizes just for coming) and we will be raffling off a $500 Southern Jewlz Shopping Spree as well as a Ring Wrap ($1950 retail value).  Special thanks to my dearest friend Emily for her gracious act of kindness!  Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Boutique and winner does not have to be present to win. Now, back to work and more fashion show planning!  Happy Tuesday y'all! xoxo Randa
